Cost and Sales
Q - "There are many other systems costing a lot less than
yours, what more do I get?"
"There are many other systems that cost a lot less, do you price match?"
A - The limited functionality and reliability of most other systems
that are able to under cut us means that we would not be comparing like for like if we
were to involve ourselves in price matching. Sound Box is extremely competitively priced
and offers excellent value for money. Many other systems consist of separate modules,
which are costed separately. Sound Box comes complete. We are also able to provide
hardware at cost, guaranteeing a fair overall price.
Q - "We are a voluntary organisation who give up our time. What
can you do for us?"
A - Currently we we give a reduction to registered charities. You
could save over £1,000 on a two-studio installation.
Q - "How quickly could we have a system installed?"
A - The time depends on the availability of equipment, which
in turn depends on what your requirements are. Typically, hardware is resourced in 3-4
weeks and the software installed and tested in another 2. Lead time is usually quoted as 6
weeks, but we can turn your order around more quickly if required.
Q - "Are there any recurring costs?"
A - If required, we will supply a support and maintenance contract.
Sound Box is an evolving product - users provide many new ideas and there is a rolling
program of added functionality. Those customers with support contracts receive these free
of charge, others will pay a nominal amount to cover our costs.
Equipment
Q - "Will I be able to use Microsoft Office while running Sound
Box on my machine?"
A - We strongly recommend against it. Sound Box is a complex piece
of software and requires access at all times to the resources of the PC. Screen savers and
other memory resident software should never be installed.
Functionality
Q - "Can we use Sound Box to record a program while using it to
play jingles?"
A - Yes. You can play jingles and music as you would usually, while
recording and compressing the output at the same time. If the budget is tight the same
system can be configured to supply an automated service whilst you are doing this.
Q - "Can I record a phone call on pre-fade?"
A - If you have a split channel desk, or can take an audio feed from
your prefade/AUX channel then yes, you can. The call can be recorded just as with a
minidisk, even when you are using Sound Box for transmission. The audio is available, on
all networked machines within seconds of it being recorded. |
